The Georgia Association of Conservation Districts (GACD) is pleased to introduce the new Georgia Conservation District Initiative in partnership with USDA's Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS). The mutual goal of this initiative is to advance conservation delivery throughout Georgia. GACD will be contracting with 45 District Program Assistants throughout the State who will provide support to Georgia's 40 local conservation districts and NRCS regional service centers. We look forward to working with local districts, NRCS leadership, and our conservation partners to take this exciting step forward for Georgia's conservation community.


GACD, in coordination with local conservation districts and USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) personnel, is seeking independently contracted Soil Conservationists to serve in select locations in the State of Georgia. Working as an independent contractor through GACD, the Soil Conservationist be based daily at a designated NRCS Office. The Soil Conservationist will perform all duties and responsibilities as required by GACD and NRCS set forth in the subsequent contract. These duties will be completed on-site at the NRCS office designated.

Approved high need districts will be assigned a Soil Conservation Technician, working as an independent contractor who will be based daily at a designated NRCS Office and contracted by GACD. The Soil Conservation Technician will perform all duties and responsibilities as required by GACD and NRCS set forth in the subsequent contract. These duties will be completed on-site at the NRCS office designated.
