ALTAMAHA CONSERVATION DISTRICT

The Altamaha District is an agency of the State Government that was established February 8, 1945. It is legally constituted, administrative agency of the state of Georgia. The Altamaha District Supervisors are charged with the responsibility of making conservation programs available for 101,500 acres of land in the District. The Altamaha District consist of five counties, Appling, Bacon, Coffee, Jeff Davis, and Telfair.

Andrew began his farm 5 years ago, as an avenue to escape the corporate grind. His background is in technology, he spent years repairing electronics and found a position working for a locomotive repair shop in Waycross. Venturing away from employment to beginning his own farming business has been a highlight for him so far. His farming principles are based on sustainable and regenerative methods to preserve our land and give us a strong foundation to build our business on. As his farm grew he became a Certified Naturally Grown farm and has been for the past 3 years. With his growing practices he easily found the certification obtainable. His family has been the driving force behind what he does, becoming a great land steward and showing the next generation how to take care of the land is the future of agriculture. He is a young individual with energy to achieve goals and be a valuable member to his community.
