Mr. Bowman is the current Chairman of the Board and has served on the Catoosa County Conservation District Board for 18 years. He was named Georgia Supervisor of the Year in 2016 and inducted into the Georgia Association of Conservation Districts Hall of Fame in 2018. He lives on a family farm in the area that has been in operation since 1928. He is retired from Nixon Power Services headquartered in Brentwood, TN. He was with the predecessor company since college graduation and was the founding President and CEO of the current company. The company operates in 13 states with 225 employees and 7 offices. Roger graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Economics from the University of Georgia and a Master of Business Administration from Vanderbilt University. He has been married for 53 years, has three children, 6 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. When he is not volunteering his time for the Conservation District, Roger enjoys fly-fishing, upland bird hunting, horses and family history research. When asked why he serves on the board, Roger says, “I love this country and it’s natural resources.”
Treasurer Keith Bonnell
Supervisor Bonnell spends most of his time managing commercial, industrial, and residential properties in the area. This interest in land development led him to his involvement in the Soil and Water Conservation District. He has served 9 years on the Catoosa County Conservation Board, currently as Treasurer. When he is not working, he is a family man, with a wife of 25 years, 3 children, one of which is adopted from Ukraine, and 2 beautiful granddaughters. His family has been in North Georgia since the original land grants.
Marjorie "Betts" Berry
Mr. Lyles has served as a Supervisor on the Catoosa County Conservation District since 2015. He is the owner of Dry Creek Farms in Catoosa County and was named Georgia Farmer of the Year in 2017. James, his wife and children live on the farm and whey they have any free time off the farm you will find them playing volleyball or participating in karate. When asked why he serves on the board, James says, "I was asked to serve on this board and it is a way to give back to our community."
