Soil & Water Conservation Lesson Plans

The following lesson plans are based on Georgia Department of Education standards and will focus on topics of soil and water conservation. Each year, lessons revolving around the soil stewardship theme will also be added to supplement activities for Stewardship Week which is held the last week of April annually.

These lessons are designed to be adaptable for multiple grade levels as well as for in-the-classroom or at-home lessons. Based on your student’s needs you will be able to utilize these lessons for incorporating environmental and conservation minded lessons into your teaching. GACD lessons are based on and correspond with the Georgia Department of Education Standards of Excellence. The specific standard that fits the lesson is detailed at the top of each lesson plan. Lessons can be used to enhance normal learning of these standards with an environmental and conservation focused viewpoint.
